Here are my characters Socrates Williams and Alphonse Hesse [hess-uh]. (Socrates is the one in the hat; Alphonse has the bread.) I came up with their concepts at the beginning of the year, when I was first working on my pederasty paper for my history class. It's only been recently that their characters have begun to solidify, though.

They live in late Victorian England, around the turn of the 20th century. Alphonse is 14, the orphaned son of a German baker. He lives with his uncle, also a German baker, when this tale that... isn't really a tale yet begins. Socrates is 25 and a member of the gentry, the upper class. Yes, they are lovers... or rather, they will become. As I said, I came up with them while working on my pederasty paper... ad their relationship is a take on pederasty. Socrates is to take Alphonse and teach him the ways of high society and other fun stuff.

This is an illustration of their first encounter. Alphonse is on his way home from wherever and he passes Socrates on the street. Socrates finds him interesting, but Alphonse just thinks that Socrates is a bit weird.
